Who is she?

Ashley Dowden is the face behind Amethyst. A PNW native, she spent 12 years in corporate New York City. Now an entrepreneur with nearly two decades experience coordinating events and marketing projects, she brings a dynamic and sophisticated skill set to independent consulting.

For as long as I can remember, people asked what I wanted to “do” or “be.” Even into college, my answer never wavered:
“I like connecting dots — people to people, ideas to organizations.”

At the time, I wasn’t sure how that instinct fit with my dual degree in Art History and Cultural Rhetoric — but I knew I was drawn to the spaces where meaning, story, and human connection intersect.

That thread carried me into an MA in Art Business and into the world of auction houses and galleries, where I supported marketing and events in the fine arts. From there, my career expanded into experiential marketing for national real estate developers and high-level branded events for international law firms.

Across every chapter, one truth held steady:
I’m at my best when I’m connecting those dots.

I love collaborating with stakeholders to create moments of resonance — experiences that engage clients, donors, and communities in thoughtful, memorable ways. I’m energized by designing events with clarity and purpose, shaping narratives that elevate a brand or mission, and finding the points of connection that transform gatherings into something meaningful.

This is the heart of Amethyst.
Helping you map your goals, distill your vision, and build experiences grounded in strategy and elevated by design.

I’d be honored to help bring your next event or initiative to life.
